 A 26 -year old male and a 54- year old male were arrested at the Shelter Island launch ramp for being drunk in public.
March 24 • Investigated a report of a stolen 9-foot dinghy from the Shelter Island Yacht basin.

 Investigated a fuel spill in the Shelter Island Yacht Basin.
March 10 • Served a temporary restraining order on a subject aboard a vessel in the Shelter Island Yacht Basin.
March 16 • The body of an unidentified male was recovered from the water off of Embarcadero Marina Park south. Body was transferred to the County Coroner’s office. A death investigation is being conducted.

 20- year old male arrested off of Harbor Island for theft of a dinghy
Feb. 28 • 51- year old male found operating a vessel at night without any navigation lights.  Subject was discovered to be a fugitive from Arizona. Subject was taken to San Diego County jail pending extradition.
Feb. 27 • Stolen vessel recovered in the Shelter Island Yacht Basin.
Feb. 27 • 43-year old female on a vessel in the Americas Cup Harbor arrested for domestic violence.
Feb. 25 • Ten-foot dinghy impounded after being found adrift in the Chula Vista Marina.

 Officers impounded a dinghy found adrift near the main shipping channel.
Feb. 19 • The body of an unidentified male was recovered from the water off of Broadway Pier.  Body was transferred to the County Coroner’s office.  A death investigation is being conducted.

 Harbor Patrol responded to a boat sinking at the East Basin.
Jan. 21 • 6:27 a.m. Harbor Patrol responded to a boat adrift near the Catalina Express. Vessel was moved during high tide.

Harbor Patrol received a report that two kayaks were stolen from the Youth & Group docks the day before. One of the kayaks was left adrift nearby and picked up by the reporting person. Jan. 11 • 6:55 p.m. Harbor Patrol assisted an outside agency to catch and detail an escapee from home detention.

Nov. 21 •  2:37 a.m. Harbor Patrol officers received a report of a 35-foot powerboat dragging anchor inside the anchorage.

VENTURA COUNTY
Ventura Harbor

Nov. 1 • 7 p.m. Harbor Patrol officers received a report of a boat on the rocks in Ventura Harbor. Officers located the vessel in the main channel and got it off the rocks, with the assistance of Vessel Assist personnel. The boat’s owner was given permission to moor at the launch ramp for two days.

Sept. 2 • 3:38 p.m.
Oceanside Harbor Patrol officers received a report of a vessel sinking off the Oceanside Pier. The skipper stated he was taking on water and his bilge pumps were unable to keep up. Patrol boats R-1 and R-2 responded. The vessel was ultimately pulled to the launch ramp and righted, with the assistance of lifeguards.

Aug. 13 • 7:35 p.m.
The victim of a laptop theft two weeks ago reported that a computer program had sent him a photo of a person using the laptop at several locations at the harbor. Harbor Patrol officers located a vessel similar to the one in the background of the photo from the computer and contacted the Ventura Police Department. Police, the victim and the person in the photo all happened to arrive on the dock at the same time. Police interviewed the subject and arrested him on suspicion of grand theft.

A Harbor Patrol officer responded to a report of a broken-down water taxi at the east side of Stearns Wharf, with 20 people on board. The officer took the vessel in tow and safely transported it to the passenger loading ramp on the wharf.

Oceanside Harbor
July 17 • Noon
Oceanside Harbor Police officers located a small sailboat capsized about a mile outside of the harbor, with three people on board: two adults and one 14-year-old. Officer David Cunniff was able to secure two of the passengers on a rescue boat. Oceanside Fire Department Lifeguard Division personnel and an Oceanside Police harbor unit responded aboard a second police rescue boat. The third person, who was standing on the capsized boat, was removed by lifeguards. The vessel was righted and towed in.

Harbor Patrol officers responded on foot to a report at a local chandlery that a subject had locked himself in a dressing room for more than 30 minutes. Officers reportedly discovered a homeless man, who said he had been sleeping in the dressing room and was about to leave the store. Officers detained him on suspicion of shoplifting. After officers confirmed that nothing was missing from the store, they gave the subject a verbal warning about penalties for trespassing, and the man left the area.

Harbor Patrol officers observed a grounded sailboat on East Beach. According to reports, the owner said his vessel went aground while he was asleep on board. The owner made arrangements to have his vessel salvaged and, by noon, the vessel was towed back out to sea and later anchored east of Stearns Wharf.
