April 22 • The Harbor Police were called to investigate a child custody dispute on a vessel docked at 188 Harbor Island Drive. The dispute involved a five-year-old child.
April 22 • The Harbor Police responded to call of a vessel in distress near buoy 14 in San Diego Bay. The vessel was towed to the Shelter Island Boat Yard.

ORANGE COUNTY
Dana Point Harbor
April 27 • 8:10 a.m.
Harbor Patrol responded to a capsized fishing boat. The vessel’s owner was attempting to right the vessel. The vessel was towed to the launch ramp. Newport Harbor April 30 • 11:46 a.m. Harbor Patrol responded to a boat that washed ashore due to strong winds.
April 29 • 9:36 a.m. Harbor Patrol responded to a 40-foot trawler that was dragging anchor. Sunset Beach Harbor
April 27 • 7:01 a.m. Harbor patrol responded to Huntington Harbour Marina where a boat was completely underwater.

 LOS ANGELES COUNTY
AVALON
April 30 *
The wind arrived here around 10:45 a.m. with whitecaps entering the harbor. With the tide peaking at 11:14, we experienced the usual high surf conditions. Extra patrolman were called in (three out of four knew we needed help and just came down) – all donned their life jackets and helmets and assisted boaters in doubling up mooring lines and retrieving skiffs. Jay’s Rental boat moorings are all in and boats there were flying up and down but all rode it out fine.  Jay’s rental kayaks were swept off the float but all survived.

MARINA DEL REY
April 30 • 8:30 p.m.
Deputies from Marina del Rey Marine Patrol responded to E basin and the main channel regarding a disabled vessel. The boater ran out of fuel and was unable to contact the commercial service he contracts with. He was towed to his slip in C basin.
April 26 • 3:45 p.m. Deputies from Marina del Rey Marine Patrol responded to the main channel of Marina del Rey regarding a disabled vessel.  The boat had engine trouble and was adrift with high winds in excess of 20kts.  The vessel was towed to the fuel docks for safety until the winds died down.
April 23 • 4 p.m. Deputies from Marina del Rey Marine Patrol responded to “E” Basin regarding a theft call. The victim said that his outboard motor had been stolen.  He had locked it to the railing of his boat with a padlock.  An investigation is underway.
April 22 • 7:15 p.m. Deputies from Marina del Rey Marine Patrol responded to “F” basin regarding a vessel taking on water.  The deputies, along with L.A. County Life Guards and L.A. County Fire, pumped approximately 500 gallons of water from the sinking vessel.  The leak was plugged pending repair.

VENTURA COUNTY
Ventura Harbor
April 20 • 5:10 p.m.
Patrol received a relay of a vessel smoking and possibly on fire thirteen miles off shore. Patrol assisted in communications with the Coast Guard. The vessel was not on fire. Patrol transported a mechanic to the vessel as it approached the Harbor. The vessel made it into its slip under its own power
April 18 • 5:07 p.m. A dive boat reports a kayaker outisde the Harbor is unable to get back on her kayak. Patrol responded, took the kayak and kayaker aboard, and released then at the Big Beach in the Keys.
April 16 • 5:40 p.m. Patrol responded to a Mayday call of a vessel that lost their prop while assisting a skiff just outside the surf line. Patrol responded, took the larger vessel into tow, while two people on a skiff held onto a line to the larger boat. Both boats were towed into the Harbor. The skiff was released to row back to its slip. The larger vessel was released at its slip at VWM.
April 14 • 11:45 a.m. Patrol followed up on a continuing investigation of an inflatable that was stolen off a boat last month at HV. Patrol located the inflatable at a dock in the Keys in possession of a suspected thief. Patrol issued the suspect a citation and PD arrested him for possession of stolen property Channel Islands Harbor
April 30 • 7:40 p.m. The Harbor Patrol responded a 36 foot sailing vessel requesting assistance mooring due to the loss of its auxiliary power. The vessel was moored at a local marina.
April 30 • 9:25 a.m. The Harbor Patrol responded a 30 foot vessel which had broken free from the dock due to high winds. The vessel was moored back to its dock.
April 27 • 11:40 a.m. Harbor Patrol responded a 35 foot vessel disabled in the west channel. The vessel was towed to a local marina. April 26 • 11:55 a.m. Harbor Patrol responded a 16 foot vessel disabled in the main basin. The vessel was towed to the launch ramp.
April 20 • 9:45 p.m. Harbor Patrol responded to a person in the water off of the Pt Hueneme pier. The victim was recovered and transported by Patrol Boat to Channel Islands Harbor then taken to the hospital by ambulance.
April 20 • 1:50 p.m. Harbor Patrol responded a 52 foot vessel having difficulty mooring due to a fouled propeller. The vessel was assisted into its slip.
April 19 • 6:15 p.m. The Harbor Patrol responded a 10 foot vessel disabled in the west channel. The vessel was towed to a local marina.
April 19 • 1:35 p.m. Harbor Patrol responded a 21 foot vessel disabled near light #2. The vessel was towed to the launch ramp. April 5 • 2:40 p.m. Harbor Patrol responded to a 28 foot vessel disabled in the west channel. The vessel was towed to a local marina.
April 5 • 1:40 a.m. While on patrol the Harbor Patrol saw flames in the cockpit of a sailboat moored at a local marina. After extinguishing the flames the Harbor Patrol Officer was able to get the vessels owner out safely.
April 4 • 8:40 a.m. Harbor Patrol responded a 22 foot vessel disabled in the main basin. The vessel was towed to the launch ramp.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY
Santa Barbara Harbor
April 26 • 7:10 p.m.
Harbor Patrol Officers responded on PB#1 to the southeast end of Stearns Wharf on a report from the S/V Double Dolphin, of a man in the water, under the wharf, holding onto a piling and screaming for assistance. The patient was brought aboard PB#1 and escorted onto Stearns Wharf . He was further evaluated by AMR and SBFD and transported to a nearby hospital.
April 21 • 7:35 p.m. Harbor Patrol Officers responded on PB#1 to the anchorage on a report from the S/V Star Voyager that they were dragging toward the beach.  The operator said his outboard bracket had broken and he could not sail because his girlfriend was yelling at him. Found the vessel near shore with the anchor up, making little progress. The vessel was towed  to the harbor by Harbor Patrol.
