Cal YC to Host ‘Recreational Boaters 2013: An Endangered Species’

MARINA DEL REY — California Yacht Club invites the boating public to learn about the latest challenges affecting recreational boaters today, during an April 25 luncheon presentation.

The presentation — “Recreational Boaters 2013: An Endangered Species?” — will address local, state and national issues affecting the use and enjoyment of recreational watercraft. The forum will be led by Debra Talbot, Boating Section head, Community and Marketing Services for the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors; and Anne Sacks, California YC staff commodore, and director and past president of Recreational Boaters of California (RBOC).

Powerboaters and sailboaters, charter boat operators and users of kayaks, rowing sculls, stand-up paddleboards and outrigger canoes are encouraged to attend the forum and have their questions answered. Lunch is at 12:20 p.m., with the presentation to follow. Tickets for the California YC buffet lunch and presentation are $17.50 and be purchased by calling (310) 823-4567 or visiting calyachtclub.com.

California Yacht Club is located at 4469 Admiralty Way.
