But if you can sail up the Red Sea to Aqabah (of Lawrence of Arabia fame), its only another 60 nautical miles by land to the mouth of the canyon that leads to the famous Treasury Building (pictured here) -- which is actually a tomb for a royal -- in Petra, as made famous by the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.Gilligan’s CatalinaGilligans Catalina -- Gilligan, a 3.5-year-old ragdoll cat, is a seasoned sailor who has cruised local waters since he was a kitten. His favorite pastime aboard SV Decadence, a Catalina 350 sailboat, is keeping watch from the top of the dodger, reported his boating companion, Joe Smith. Their homeport is Shoreline Marina in Long Beach.
