HAITI — Even before their homeland suffered a devastating earthquake, many Haitians tried to flee the country in overcrowded boats bound for the United States. Now the people of Haiti are in desperate need of medical supplies if they are to survive.
The aid organization AmeriCares has already airlifted $6 million worth of medical aid to the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince. AmeriCares has provided aid to the country since 1984 and delivered more than $145 million worth of medical aid and humanitarian relief to Haiti over the years. Over 99% of donations goes directly to support and relief programs. |
