After a four-year hiatus, California Yacht Club will host the U.S. Sailing Junior Olympics Festival for young sailors. Events scheduled throughout the four-day festival.

The Long Beach Marine Bureau will hold an auction of impounded and abandoned vessels where boats are offered “as-is-where-is” All sale items are final. No vessel sold at the auction will be allowed in Long Beach marinas for a period of six months. Time: Boat inspection at 8 a.m.; bidding begins at 9 a.m.

The 81st annual Flight of the Lasers will be held in Newport Bay where more than 60 Lasers will race in the regatta. The Governor’s Cup, the oldest international youth match racing regatta in the world, will celebrate its 50th year anniversary with alumni events and special events. Racing starts on July 19 with sailors racings in new Governor’s Cup 22 sloops. Information: govcupracing.com

Balboa Angling Club will host this offshore tournament that is strictly a marlin, dorado, tuna and yellowtail tourney using 30# test line minimum. Tuna eligible are yellowfin, bluefin and big eye. The Santa Barbara annual Greek Festival celebrates its 43rd annual run with all the sights, sounds and flavors of the Mediterranean. Everything from moussaka and gyros to paidakia and classic Greek wedding cookies will be available for purchase.
