Viewing of the boats will be between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. All vessels will be sold as is\, where is and must be removed by 5 p.m. on the day of the auction. The winning bidder must pay in cash only. Harbor Patrol retains CF registration for a 10-day redemption period before the vessels are released to the bidder after which the bidder has until 5 p.m. the day following the redemption period to claim and remove vessel from Harbor Patrol. DESCRIPTION:In September of 1857\, S.S. Central America sank after stopping in Havana\, Cuba on a voyage north. During this time\, S.S. Central America was carrying nearly 10 tons of gold prospected during California’s Gold Rush\, which was mostly recovered during the 2014 expedition of the ship. At the 2018 Long Beach Coin\, Currency\, Stamp & Sports Collectible Expo\, the “Ship of Gold” treasure\, which amounts to some $40 million\, will be displayed. This will be the first public showing of the collection of historic gold and silver coins\, unopened sacks of gold dust\, and more. The California Convention Center is located at 100 S. DESCRIPTION:Join more than 500 volunteers for one of the largest annual dive events at Avalon Harbor to aid in keeping the water and surrounding areas clean; the event will be held Feb. 24. \nAn event that began in the ‘70s\, Avalon Harbor now only allows diving once a year for this incredible endeavor to pick up trash and celebrate Catalina’s beautiful beaches and marine life. Last year\, 494 participants recovered 5\,200 pounds of trash. DESCRIPTION:Accomplished local sailor\, Drew Freides\, who won the 2017 Melges 20 World Championship\, will speak at Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club. Freides will share what it was like competing against 40 sailors from four continents during last year’s Melges 20 in Newport\, Rhode Island and the decision to put designing high-performance racing yachts on hold to pursue his own racing career as well as what it was like growing up sailing and more. A social hour will be held to meet and greet others at 6 with a light dinner following at 7. This event will be held at 13589 Mindanao Way.
