He won the Mavericks Big Wave Surf contest in 2009. In March 2017 he completed the first solo\, unsupported stand-up paddle board crossing of the Atlantic Ocean. DESCRIPTION:The public is invited to join Los Angeles Yacht Club in celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a flotilla through Cabrillo Marina\, Holiday Harbor and Cabrillo Way Marina. Participants who have their own dinghy\, paddleboard or kayak should bring them\, those without will be able to ride along with someone else. Club members on five host boats will pass out randomly selected playing cards along with refreshments to all who participate. The voyage will end at the Clubhouse for a luncheon\, where winners with the three best hands will be determined and awarded the Pot ‘o’ Gold prizes. The event costs $20.
