Join fellow yachting enthusiast for California Yacht Club’s monthly luncheon, this time featuring Two Harbors’ Harbor Master Ari Castano for an update on what’s happening at the island. Castano will also be discussing the launch of the new Catalina Dreaming Loyalty Program.

The Port of Los Angeles will host the event that includes live music, a food and beer garden, dancing water shows and classic cars.

Kick off Independence Day with the 30th annual Children’s Festival where kids will enjoy crafts and activities.

The public is invited to the city of Oceanside’s Fireworks Show. There will be music and food trucks prior to the show. Spectators are encouraged to arrive anytime after 6 p.m., park in the nearby lots, bring a beach chair, and walk to the viewing area on Rancho Del Oro Road.

• Budding shipbuilders and engineers are invited to participate in the annual Kardboard Kayak build it and race it challenge.

After a four-year hiatus, California Yacht Club will host the U.S. Sailing Junior Olympics Festival for young sailors. Events scheduled throughout the four-day festival.
