Richard J Rock, born in August 1948, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025.
After graduating from the University of Michigan he held management positions with marine and industrial responsibilities. When he moved to San Diego, Richard was the Dining Room manager at the Hotel del Coronado and managed the restaurant at Bazaar Del Mundo in Old Town. For over 30 years he was the owner of Southern California A to Z Marine. Richard was also a collector of classic cars, constantly restoring and driving them.
Richard funded multiple charities, including a 501 (C)(3) for canines who provide support, in memory of Lucy, his beloved dog.
