Port of Los Angeles has opened new on- and off-ramps and implemented revised traffic patterns at the SR 47 Interchange in San Pedro as construction enters a new phase near the Vincent Thomas Bridge.
On January 12, 2026, the Port opened a new northbound on-ramp to I-110 and a new southbound off-ramp from SR 47 at Front Street and Harbor Boulevard. A newly realigned Knoll Drive was also opened to provide improved access to Knoll Hill. The changes are part of the ongoing SR 47 Interchange Project, which aims to improve traffic circulation, safety, and freight mobility in the harbor area.
Beginning Friday, January 23, and continuing through August 31, 2026, construction crews will close both the northbound SR 47 on-ramp and the northbound SR 47 off-ramp at Harbor Boulevard, also known as the Harbor Boulevard off-ramp from southbound I-110. During this closure, motorists will be directed to follow posted detours.
Drivers traveling from southbound I-110 to Harbor Boulevard should exit at Channel Street and Pacific Avenue and continue to Front Street and Harbor Boulevard. Those heading from Pacific Avenue to northbound SR 47 are advised to take Pacific Avenue to Channel Street, then southbound I-110 to northbound SR 47. Motorists traveling from Harbor Boulevard to northbound SR 47 should use Front Street and Harbor Boulevard to First Street, then Gaffey Boulevard to northbound SR 47.
