Southern California lobster enthusiasts can now purchase their 2026-27 Spiny Lobster Report Cards ahead of the upcoming recreational season.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has made report cards available through its Online License Sales system, as well as at participating sporting goods stores, tackle shops and by phone at (800) 565-1458.
A Spiny Lobster Report Card is required for anyone participating in California’s recreational spiny lobster fishery, including divers and hoop net anglers.
The 2026-27 recreational spiny lobster season officially opens at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, giving anglers and divers another opportunity to pursue one of Southern California’s most popular fall fisheries.
CDFW encourages participants to purchase their report cards before opening day and review current regulations before heading out on the water.
