Lifeguards conducted a thorough search of the area for two hours via land, air and sea; and the area was closed for the remainder of the day. July 3 • 3:28 p.m. Lifeguards requested a rescue vessel to check on the welfare of passengers aboard a boat stranded on a sandbar near Kendall-Frost Mission Bay Marsh Reserve. Vessel occupants were clear and decided to wait it out with the boat until high tide. July 5 • 10:15 a.m. Lifeguards requested Coast Guard assistance in a fuel spill at Hyatt Marina in Mission Bay. July 5 • 2:03 p.m. Lifeguards received a report of a vessel aground on Mission Bay. Lifeguards responded via a rescue vessel and towed the boat off a sandbar. July 5 • 2:56 p.m. Lifeguards received a report of a vessel on the rocks. Lifeguards responded aboard a rescue vessel, and the boat was towed to open water.
