The California Coastal Commission, during day two of its May meetings, also approved Mission Bay Yacht Club’s request to replace 14 of its concrete guide piles within its marina and at its bayfront dock.
“The purpose of this project is to replace the old and damaged piles to ensure that the anchorage is maintained in a safe and operable condition,” Coastal Commission staff stated in a report to commissioners.
Commissioners approved the request on May 11.
Construction should be completed within 5-7 days, according to Coastal Commission staff.
Mission Bay YC has applied for a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit to complete the project.
