Youth sailors from across the nation are gearing up for the highly anticipated 2024 RS Tera North American Championship, set to take place June 8-9 at Alamitos Bay Yacht Club (ABYC). With participants representing a diverse array of talent from various youth programs, this championship promises two days of thrilling competition in one of the West Coast’s premier sailing venues.
ABYC’s reputation precedes it, with the area renowned for its consistent breeze, and the club for its top-notch regatta management and welcoming atmosphere. As sailors gather, they’ll have the chance to test their skills against the backdrop of Alamitos Bay in Long Beach, an area that will host sailing events during the 2028 Summer Olympics.
The fifth annual RS Tera North American Championship will draw young sailors from over a dozen junior programs nationwide. Among the competitors are previous champions from sailing hubs such as Dana Point, Cal Yacht Club, Sausalito, St. Francis Yacht Club, Sail Park City and Union Sailing Club in Colorado.
