A four-day waterfront showcase returns to Lido Marina Village, blending luxury vessels, coastal lifestyle, and immersive experiences in the heart of Newport Harbor.
NEWPORT BEACH— Each spring, Newport Beach’s working waterfront takes on a distinctly different rhythm as the Newport Beach International Boat Show (NBIBS) returns to Lido Marina Village, drawing boaters, buyers, and waterfront visitors into the heart of the harbor. Set for April 16 through April 19, 2026, the annual event has grown into one of Southern California’s most anticipated boating showcases, blending on-the-water exhibitions with the coastal lifestyle that defines Newport Beach.
Rather than functioning as a traditional trade show, NBIBS has evolved into a fully immersive waterfront experience. Over the course of four days, Lido Marina Village is transformed into a walkable marina showcase where docks, slips, shops, and restaurants become part of the event itself. For many attendees, that setting is as much a draw as the boats, offering a rare chance to explore vessels while remaining surrounded by the harbor’s everyday activity.
Bernard Kida, Director of Hospitality for Revel Republic, emphasized how the setting plays a central role in the experience. “Attendees can expect a true immersion into the high-end coastal lifestyle, with Lido Marina Village serving as the perfect backdrop,” he said.
At the center of the show is its on-water display, where more than 200 vessels are expected to be showcased throughout the marina. Boats on display range from performance powerboats and sailboats to fully outfitted luxury yachts, with more than 75 on-water exhibitors representing leading manufacturers and brokerages. The dockside format allows visitors to step directly aboard vessels, speak with industry professionals, and compare designs and features in real-world conditions rather than a showroom environment.
Highlighting what attendees will see on the water, Kida noted, “On the water, the show features a diverse collection of over 200 vessels. A major highlight is the West Coast debut of the Axopar 38, unveiled for the first time by Jeff Brown Yachts. There is also a significant expansion in the Catamaran category this year; these ‘floating condos’ are a must-see for anyone interested in the latest trends in space and stability.” He added that “the show’s footprint continues to scale as industry leaders like Sun Country, Silver Seas, Jeff Brown, IYC, Denison, SeaNet, and Northrop & Johnson to name a few further their investment with even more impressive and expansive build outs.”
Beyond the boats themselves, the show places a strong emphasis on marine technology and innovation. Exhibitors showcase new propulsion systems, electronics, accessories, and onboard equipment, with live demonstrations and hands-on experiences offering insight into how these products perform on the water. For seasoned boat owners and first-time buyers alike, the event provides a practical opportunity to see where the industry is headed.
Kida reinforced that accessibility, adding, “If you’re actively looking to buy, it’s one of the most efficient ways to see and compare a range of boats in one place and connect directly with the right people.” He also pointed out that “even if you’re not buying right now, it’s a great way to see where the industry is headed.”
As the docks fill with activity, the on-land portion of the show adds another layer to the experience. Curated marine brands, lifestyle vendors, and technology providers line the village, while sponsored lounges and hospitality areas offer places to pause between dock walks. Waterfront dining, live entertainment, and interactive activations contribute to an atmosphere that feels equal parts boat show and coastal gathering, reinforcing the event’s reputation as a celebration of Newport Beach’s seaside lifestyle.
Expanding on that atmosphere, Kida explained, “On land, the experience is just as elevated. The VIP Lounge, sponsored by Yaamava’, has been expanded to include a new roster of musical performers and artists, creating a high-energy social hub.” He added that “because the show is integrated directly into the boutiques and restaurants of Lido, the entire area transforms into a walkable, European-style maritime celebration.”
That sense of integration carries throughout the event’s design. “We’ve designed the show so that everything flows together naturally,” Kida said. “Food, drinks, entertainment, and lifestyle elements are woven throughout, so you can move from exploring a yacht to enjoying a cocktail or immersive display from one of our fantastic partners, without ever feeling like you’re stepping out of the experience.”
That sense of progression continues throughout the weekend, which is structured to appeal to a wide range of attendees. The show begins on Thursday, April 16, with a Preview Opening Night, offering early access to yachts, exhibitors, and curated activations in a more intimate setting. Limited attendance and elevated hospitality create a quieter environment for serious buyers and industry insiders before the public opening.
Kida noted that this early access offering adds to the exclusivity of the event, explaining that “for those looking for the most exclusive experience, the Thursday Preview Access is available for $75, offering a first look at the debuts and a more intimate environment before the weekend crowds arrive.”
As the event opens fully to the public on Friday, April 17, the marina comes alive with increased energy. Exhibitors are fully operational, live entertainment begins, and guests are able to explore the complete range of vessels and experiences. Friday sets the tone for the weekend, balancing discovery with social interaction as visitors circulate through the docks and village.
By Saturday, April 18, the show reaches its peak. Crowds are at their largest, programming is in full swing, and the marina reflects the most dynamic atmosphere of the weekend. Yachts, demonstrations, shopping, and entertainment converge, creating a lively backdrop that captures the scale and ambition of the event.
Among the standout additions this year is an expanded focus on lifestyle and wellness. Kida shared that “the most exciting evolution this year is the deeper integration of wellness and luxury lifestyle. We’ve partnered with DRENCHED OC to host morning yoga sessions on the top deck of a yacht — an experience that perfectly captures the Newport Beach spirit.” He also highlighted Saturday evening’s programming, noting, “Saturday night features the ‘Driven To Inspire’ Luxury Showcase at Lido House. This is the ‘who’s who’ event of the weekend, bringing together a variety of exotic vehicles on display alongside elite brands like Falcon Jet, RDO Development, and Valia Properties.”
The weekend concludes on Sunday, April 19, with Hero Day and the show’s closing celebration. While maintaining full access to exhibits and vessels, the day honors military members, first responders, and community heroes. The pace often slows slightly, making Sunday a popular time for families and serious buyers to take a final look before the show wraps up.
Behind the scenes, producing an event of this scale requires extensive coordination. Kida offered insight into the effort involved, explaining, “Revel Republic does a ton behind the scenes, from securing brokerages, exhibitors, and sponsors to managing guest experience, marketing, and overall logistics. We have an entire team dedicated to building out the dock system, obtaining permits, and coordinating vessel movement, and that’s just on the water.” He added that on land, “the builds and displays are just as extensive, with a lot of detail going into creating an environment that feels elevated and seamless.”
To support the influx of visitors, organizers have implemented a shuttle-based parking plan designed to ease congestion near the harbor. Guests are encouraged to park at the Hoag Health Center on Superior Avenue, where a free shuttle runs every 20 minutes between the parking area and the main show entrance at Lido Marina Village. For ride-share services and direct drop-offs, guests can use the Lido Marina Village address on Via Oporto, located adjacent to the event entrance.
The show’s exhibitor lineup extends well beyond the docks, bringing together brokerages, manufacturers, service providers, and marine-related businesses that reflect the full scope of today’s boating industry. On land, activations and displays complement the on-water exhibits, creating a seamless experience that integrates with the village’s existing shops and restaurants.
Kida emphasized that Newport Beach itself plays a critical role in the show’s success. “Newport Beach is such a natural fit because boating is part of the culture here, it’s not something that’s being created just for the event,” he said. “Lido Marina Village adds to that with its built-in energy, great retail, dining, and waterfront access. It allows us to create experiences that feel elevated while staying true to Newport.”
Over time, the Show has become more than a seasonal attraction. As Kida noted, “NBIBS has become a pivotal pillar of the community and a fixed date on the Southern California social calendar.” It has established itself as a staple event for the city, reinforcing Newport Beach’s identity as a premier boating destination and a hub for marine commerce, recreation, and innovation.
For the local waterfront, the show brings economic activity and national visibility, while for attendees it offers a front-row look at the boating world set against one of Southern California’s most iconic harbors. As Kida put it, “The show is not just about looking at boats; it’s about celebrating the culture of the harbor and the people who make Newport Beach world-class.”
