Free Virtual Meeting to Explore Key Waterway Issues – Dec. 4

Boaters, anglers, and environmental stewards across California are invited to take part in a free virtual educational meeting on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:15 p.m. The event will bring together state experts to discuss some of the most important topics affecting California’s waterways and boating community.

Attendees will hear directly from The Marine Mammal Center, the world’s largest marine mammal hospital, and learn about its mission, common rescue cases, and how to report animals in distress. Additional presentations will cover California’s Boater Card requirements, updates on the state’s efforts to mitigate the spread of the invasive Golden Mussel, and how locally led stewardship programs like Dockwalker are helping to keep waterways clean and communities informed.

Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch and tune in for this interactive session filled with educational insight, updates, and opportunities to ask questions. Advance registration is required, and meeting capacity is limited. Once registered, attendees will receive a confirmation email with Zoom details for joining the event.
