Synopsis: “A whale of a nature doc… Humpback Whales is a prime example of the power of large-format documentaries to educate, delight and inspire.” (The Hollywood Reporter). Set in the spectacular waters of Alaska, Hawaii and the remote islands of Tonga, the enlightening ocean adventure appeals to all ages taking the audience on an aquatic journey with intimate views of  how the giant marine mammals thrive.

Captured for the first time with IMAX cameras the behavior of the magnificent sea inhabitants, with their unique communication, reveals their curious qualities and habits:  singing, feeding, playing, and caring for their young. These intelligent  ocean creatures are considered the most acrobatic of all whales diving up to 1,000 feet, weighing up to 50 tons and  as long as  55 feet; migrating as much as 10,000 miles annually. Underlying message of the film is that humpback whales need to be protected and respected in order to survive and with awareness and concerted effort that is taking place. Directed by Academy Award nominated Greg MacGillivray the film is another stellar achievement in a film chronology of over five decades.
