DANA POINT— This summer, the Ocean Institute is making waves with a lineup of new ocean experiences designed to spark curiosity, fuel exploration, and create lasting memories for visitors of all ages.
From snorkeling Southern California’s coves to sunset sailing aboard a historic tall ship, the Dana Point-based nonprofit is rolling out a series of programs aimed at immersing guests in the wonders of the sea. “These new experiences, from kayaking the harbor to nighttime shark feedings, are designed to inspire, educate, and ignite a lifelong love for the ocean,” said Sara Larrea, Senior Manager of Public Programs at the Ocean Institute.
Among the highlights is the “Paddle into the Wild” Guided Kayak Tour, a two-hour naturalist-led paddle through Dana Point Harbor. Participants will learn about marine life, local geology, and harbor history while spotting sea lions, seabirds, and possibly even bat rays. Tours begin in June, run Saturdays at 9 a.m., and are open to ages 3 and up. Adult tickets are $36, and children’s tickets are $25.
Also launching this season is “Snorkel Southern California: Underwater Paradise,” a semi-private snorkel tour in the clear waters of Shaw’s Cove. Designed for ages 8 and up, the tour includes gear, wetsuits, marine life...
