  1. I am living at my grandfather’s house in The Gardens in San Pedro, while I attend a Master’s program at USC. I have come here for 43 years. The noise pollution from the port has increased significantly. I am actually shocked by how loud the noise is, especially at night. It seems to me that the port has been allowed to develop and expand without consideration for its impact on residential neighborhoods, and in an unmitigated fashion. It seems that the port amps up activity at night and at 2:30AM I am listening to constant loud beeping and noise from the port, coming through a window, which sprinklers running in the early morning was the noisiest sound in the past.
